I am Natalia Blok and I am a photographer (a.k.a. Blokvanger). You can hire me for portraits, web and social media content or product photography.
My photography art work concentrates mainly on landscapes. In landscapes my eye is drawn to existing lines, shapes and compositions that frame the image in a certain way. Layouts and structures formed by humans or nature itself.
Part of my photo work consists of a "real" representation of landscapes. In fact, photos are always a subjective record of reality. This invites me to experiment. To look at landscapes differently and to change and distort them. With a multitude of available structures from my own (analogue) photos I create new images, compositions and collages. For example, by digitally editing analogue photos. Or by ‘playing’ with a digital camera with exposure, shutter speed or distortion through the lens. I make use of repetition, rearranging elements, the use of (un)sharpness, depth and colors. Resulting in somewhat surreal worlds; in images in which new landscapes emerge.
