I am Natalia Blok and I am a photographer (a.k.a. Blokvanger).
My photography art work concentrates mainly on landscapes. In landscapes my eye is drawn to existing lines, shapes, space and compositions that frame the image in a certain way. Layouts, textures and structures formed by humans or nature itself.
Photography is the basis of my artistic expression. Photos are a subjective record of reality. This invites me to experiment. To look at landscapes differently and to change and distort them. With a multitude of available structures from my own (analogue and digital) photos I create new images, compositions and collages. For example, by editing photos. Using mixed media. Or by playing with exposure, shutter speed or distortion through the lens. I make use of repetition, rearranging elements, the use of (un)sharpness, depth and colors. Resulting in somewhat surreal worlds; in images in which new landscapes emerge.
